Troubleshooting Tips

No. 18 - Issues installing Picon-K Console with Kraus Micon & MTI (D&H) EQ30 or EL60 Heads

Return to Troubleshooting

We have discovered a number of conditions where the Picon Console will not work correctly or at all with Kraus Micon heads or MTI (D&H) EQ30 Heads, see the below examples:

Kraus Micon Heads

Micon 100

SKIL A15 Boards must have version DANPMP3.1 or DANPMP3.2 Software

SKIL 421 Boards must have version 7.03

Micon 200

SKIL 252 Boards must have version 6.3 NOTE! Will not work on 2 tier pricing

SKIL 350 Boards must have version 7.03 or 1.09 NOTE! Will not work on 2 tier pricing

Micon 500

Units must have version 1.33 and be equipped with the option piggyback SKIL 472 MNET interface board to provide serial interface NOTE! Will not work on 2 tier pricing

MTI (D&H) EQ30 Heads

CPU Board

Must have version 1.42 for shift reports to function correctly

MTI EQ30 Power Supply

Must be revision 3 or 4 or a "modified" revision 1 or 2 board for Kraus MNET comunication to function

All boards show revision 2 on the front of the board, the actual revision number is only marked on the rear, for figure 1 for details.
If you have a revision 1 or 2 board, you now need to determine if it has been modified. It is necessary to remove the power supply from the explosion proof housing to do so.
Modified version 1/2 boards will have a transistor and 2 resistors soldered to the back of the board behind the microprocessor U1.

If R8 is 30K, this needs to be changed to 1.0K
If R9 is 30K, this needs to be changed to 1.0K

MTI EL60 Power Supply

If R24 is 30K, this needs to be changed to 1.0K
If R25 is 30K, this needs to be changed to 1.0K

Note! If the above power supplies are 30K, they will need to be replaced. Please contact us about exchange pricing and details
